Mid face lift:

The midface is the area from the lower eyelids to the nasolabial folds, the lines from the nose to the corner of the mouth. Round facial contours and midface/cheek projection is the mark of youth and beauty. Gravity and fat deflation affect the facial fullness as a person get age. The mid face is one of the first facial areas to show signs of aging. The flattening of this area can result in more tired or older looking face.

The aim of the mid-face lift is to restore the natural curves and fullness in the cheeks by moving soft tissues back to the original position. The soft midface tissue is elevated from the bone, repositioning it upward towards the eyes, and until it readheres naturally to the bone it is fixed in place artificially. This restores cheek volume and establishes more youthful midface contours. The result will be a natural, revitalized appearance.
There are two different types of mid facelift techniques. In the traditional technique, the cheeks and lower eyelids are accessed through an incision hidden in the lower lash line. This traditional technique is best suited in patients who want to life the tissues upward, rather than horizontally or diagonally. The second technique is able to produce more dramatic results. In this method, the procedure is performed through two endoscopic incisions placed in the temples, hidden behind the hairline. This gives the surgeon a pair of access points through which he can lift facial muscles and skin both vertically and diagonally. A small endoscope and other instruments are introduced through the incisions to lift the delicate midface tissues off the cheekbones. Once lifted, these tissues are repositioned towards the eye and towards the ear. The incisions are small and are in hidden areas which are not readily seen. Regardless of which technique is used, the mid facelift is able to correct under-eye bags, hollowness in the upper cheeks, and prominent nasal folds. Candidates for mid lift surgery are usually at 40s and older, although can be done younger for inherited traits. Sometimes a cheek or tear trough implant is placed simultaneously. Mid Face Lift can be combined with a browlift, facelift, blepharoplasty, fat transfer, facial implants, botox, and chemical peels or laser resurfacing. This is a safe procedure with few complications. No permanent instances of frontal nerve palsy have occurred. Midface lift and eyelid surgery can affect the basic functions of the eyes. The fees vary according to the locale, skill of the surgeon, and other factors. The cost includes the surgeon's fees, anesthesiologist fee, facility fee, hospital fee, and possibly more.
